Inc., of which Dorothy Thomp
son is chairman, has honored it
self and the North Carolina Fed
eration of Women's clubs by ap
pointing Mrs. James A. Gupton
of Charlotte, a member of its
national council. This council is
to serve until such time as a
convention can be held and a
permanent council elected.
Mrs. Gupton was chosen for
th s council because of the lead
ership she has already shown in
the peace movement, in the or
ganization of which she is presi
dent, the theme of her adminis
tration being “United for
Peace.” She and the chairman
of the International Relations
department, Mrs. Gordon Mad
