Miss Collins, Mr. Jamison Are Married The marriage of Miss Laura Gwendolyn Collins, daughter of and Mrs. Sterling D. Col ins and James Franklin Jami ‘.n son of the late Mr. and W. M. Jamison of Moores was solemnized Saturday 'iter’noon, at 5 o’clock in the Suiter Park Baptist church. The ceremony was performed hefore an altar banked with jmS< chrysanthemums, south finiiax, and cathedral can dles. The Rev. T. H. King, offi ciated. pr;or to the ceremony, Mrs. p p. High played a program of nuptial music, and Mrs. L. W. Brinson, soloist, sang several flections. The bride, given in marriage l,v her father, wore a gown of. white satin fashioned with a bertha of chantilly lace embroi led with seed pearls and crystal sequins, a fitted bodice, >nd a full skirt ending in a cir cular train. Her full length veil 0f bridal illusion fell from a halo of chantilly lace em broidered with seed pearls, and she carried an arm bouquet of white carnations centered with , white orchid. Her only orna ment was a string of pearls, a gift of the bridegroom. Mrs, Joe I. Miller was ma iron-of-honor and wore a gown cf peacock blue moire with a jutted bodice and full skirts with , bustle. She wore a halo of il lusion, and carried a bouquet of chrysaothemums. Bridesmaids, Miss Dorothea Quelch Jones, and Mrs. Ray S. Moore of Knoxville, Tenn.. wore dusty rose gorwns and hats identical to that of the matron of honor. They carried bouquets of lavendar chrysanthemums. Junior bridesmaids were lean Vereen and Gwen Lou Vereen. They wore dresses in light blue, and carried yellow chrysanthe mums. Flower girl, Judy Mat te, wore a pink dress and car ried a basket of blue and pink flower petals. Gilbert Jamison of Kanna polis was his brother’s best man, end ushers were Joe I. Miller, £am Fincher of Florence, S. C. A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, fol lowing the ceremony. The bride’s going-away suit was of gabardine. She wore black accessories and an orchid torsage. Mrs. Jamison is a graduate of Mars Hill college and the Womans college of the Univer sity of North Carolina Mr. am Ison is a graduate of the Berry Schools, Rome, Ga. The wedding will take place on January 3. Seagate Church Officers Honored Mrs. A. F. Williamson, WMS president of the Seagate Baptist church organizations, entertain ed the WMS officers with a Christmas party recently at her home. The party began with the singing of a group of carols. Mrs. C. L. McKenzie then gave a brief talk on the different or ganizations of the WMS and the colors that represent each one. Mrs. Williamson gave as fa vors small handmade book markers using ribbons to carry out the color scheme of the or ganization that each officer rep resented. During the social hour games were played and refresh ments were served. The house was appropriately decorated with greenery and burning candles. On one small table was a miniature Christ mas tree. The en tire service will be devoted to music, The cantata “The Christ mas Hallelujah” will be sung by the large chorus choir of mixed voices. The choir is under the direc tion of Mrs. G. W. Saunders, with Mrs. John Hewitt at the piano. King-Guerin Vows Planned For Saturday The marriage of Lois King King and William R. Guerin of Wilmington and Atlanta, Ga., will take place Saturday after noon at 3 o’clock in the chapel of the First Presbyterian church. The Rev. . J: A. Russell of Grace Methodist church, and Dr. William Crow of the First Presbyterian church will offi ciate. Mrs. King will have as her on ly attendant ,her young daugh ter, Miss Julene King. She will be given in marriage by her father, J. Arthur King. Mr. Guerin will have as his best man his brother, C. E. Guer in of Newport News, and ushers will be Richard E. Guerin, twin brother of the groom-to-be from Atlanta, and Marion B. Guerin, another brother from Atlanta. Mrs. King is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Arthur King of this city, and Mr. Guerin is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Guerin of Atlanta. Brew en tertained their son, *Danny, on his 14th birthday Friday night with a weinenroast at their home in Leland. Games were played throughout the evening, after which many gifts were present ed.
