NEW YORK, Dec. 24. —IM— Stocks moved erratically in to day’s market and finished close to previous levels. Rails led an early upswing that collapsed in the face of modest profit taking and trim ming of accounts before the Christmas recess. Losses ranging to 2 points developed but many of these were trimmed or transferred into gains by the end of the day. Much of the trading was con centrated in the morning hours as the traditional holiday activi ty limited later dealings. The market enjoyed its ninth succes sive million-share full session, however, with transfers of 1 180. 000 shares compared with i 160 000 Tuesday. $ MB We may forget a lot of things, but there's one thing we will never overlook and that’s the opportun ity to say to our friends— MERRY CHRISTMAS WENBERG BROS.
