Bunche High School cur riculum has broadened its scope to include two foreign languages, and advanced course as in English and Mathematics. The school has an excellent physical education program, with championship bas ketball and football teams. A mo dern semi-air conditioned activity bus was recently purchased. Ac cording to the principal, plans are being made for a modern tennis court. The commerical and drama tic clubs have been rated as two of the best. The school publishes a popular monthly school paper. The Home Economics Department has all modern equipment. The Visual Education Department is one of the best. Headed by the principal, Mr. N. M. McMillan, many films, filmstrips, and slides are made from the activities cf the students at school, and are pro cssed there, Air. McMillan announced that he had just rcceved a special appro ■ priation from Mr. C. B Thomas, superintendent, for the purchase of additional books for the high sch ool library. Annual Spring ICampnree Held Near Raleigh Over 500 scouts, explorers and leaders from the divisions of the Occoneechee Council. Boy Scouts of America ended their annual spring camporee yesterday (Sun day' in Reedy Creek State Park. George L. Fox well, Council Camporee Chief, said that the scouts pitched their tents Fri day afternoon and cooked their own food for the three day period. the Friday evening progiam. Sat - urday morning and afternoon the scouts enjoyed six competitive scoutcraft events which was co ordinated by Jim Wilson, field director In the Oceoneechee Coun cil. The winners of each event were signalling, Troop 103 and First Aid Troop IOC of Durham, string burning and flint and steel relay, Troop 157 Harnett County, I knot tying relay Troop 12,1 Apex and tile sack race was a fun event for all units. Saturday night was the an nua! council-wide camp fire put on by the scouts with Frank Vandal, Moore District executive as master of cere monies. D.
