our own. Potentially, America has
enormous advantage over the rest
of the world In Its relation to A
rican states, if wa could send them
a large number of qualified A
merican ectinicians of American de
cent Rpt this advantage is large
ly potential, due to our failure to
give our Negro citizens a fair share
economically and educationally.”
Dr. Robinson pointed out that the
Negro population of the United
states In 1950 was roughly 10 per
cent of the total. "If Negroes had
been trained in professional and
technical categories in relation to
their total population, there would
be/ appproxlmately 33.000 Negro
auditors and accountants, not 960;
lioo airplane pilots and navigators,
not 90; 2.200 architects, no 1H0; 52.-
000 technical engineers, not 1,620;
16,000 doctors.
“Communism led by Russia and
Democracy by the US A. are de
sperately striving to win minds of
Federal regulatory agency."
Higginbotham believes; "Negroes
have an obligation to foster maxi
mum motivations among young
people to develop their potential."
