The School of Agriculture, the

State, gets a new name on Teh. 1.
The hew name, approved by
the University Trustees’ Exe

Dr. H. Brooks James, dean of the

plant pathology, entomology, bo

Dean .James pointed out that
while these sciences form the basis
for much of modern agriculture,
their importance is not limited to
agriculture.
James quoted University of Cali

saying the second half of the 20th

Kerr added:

Indoor Greenery
Gardening need not he oxela
sively an activity for the great
outdoors. Homeowner*, as weil
as the apartment dwellers, can
enjoy gardening, indoors, par
ticularly in cooler weather.
Growing house plants can he a
very satisfying indoor gardening
experience, if you bear in mind
a few simple, precautions. Terra
cotta pots are usually best for
your plant*. They’re porous and
s. allow the soil to absorb air. To
prevent water-logging and rot
ting of roots, make sure the pot*
have holes in the ixittom and are
set in saucer* for proper drain
age. Most people tend to over
water house plants. Remember,
the soil should be kept moist, hut
nut met. Generally, watering
twice a week will be enough.
If your plants begin yellowing
between the leaf vejn* they are
very likely suffering from iron
deficiency or anemia. Prompt at
tention is needed to cure this
anemia.
A simple, effective and eco
nomical method is now available
through the latest research. One
quarter of a teaspoon of Geigy
gequestrene 330 it iron rhelate
v per quart of water, apolied in a
normal watering, is the recom
mended prescription.
