REGISTRATION CRUSH Scene* like this were commonplace at North Carolina College
laat week as some 2500 students registered for the collet's second semester, which began Monday.
This group, seeking classes in physical education, is typical of many througing the main floor of
the gymnasium during registration. NCC's new Data Processing Center helps speed registration
by issuing machine-prepared cards, lists, and other materials.

I have Just read a report on the
apparent etfect of seaweed on the
growth and flowering of iri*. I
found the result* reported to be of
sufficient interest to me to pas* on
to m.v readers.
. Seaweed i* commonly referred to
as kelp and includes a large num
ber of the brown weed*. There has
been consideiable. interest in sea
weed as a food ar.d as a nutrient to
supplement the fertilizer program.
It has been used on both flowey-s.
vegetables and fruits.
Mrs. Jeanne Price of Blacksburg,
Va., used the seaweed formulation
on her iris at .the request of a Nor
wegian company who manufactures
the product. Incidentally, Mrs: Price
is an accredited exhibition judge
and a member of the American
Iris Society. This fact lends cre
dence to her report
Mrs. Price used 29 varieties and
four treatment*—-no seaweed, gran
ulated seaweed, extract seaweed,
and th* extract plus the granulated
