Top Prices Expected At Annual Johnston Event SMITHFIELD—The 17th Annual Johnston County Ham and Egg Show and Sale is being held here April 8-10 at the Johnston County Livestock Arena on Highway 301. between Smithfield and Selma. The rhow is sponsored by the Commerce and the Agricultural Extension and the Smithfield Chamber of Com mission Service. Featured at this annual affair will be ham* produced from hogs slaughtered before January of 1904. Hams from hogs slaughtered after this date cannot be exhibited at the show, according to an official Hams may be entered in either the light class (10-16) pounds or the heavy class (17-22 pounds). The hogs from which the ham* are produced must not be older than 12 months Peijpns who will exhibit must be farmers or organised youth group member* of Johnston County, and must produce the product on th* farm they operate. Those exhibiting egg* must con form to the standard set forth by the state of North Carolina.
