MASS —Over fifty per cent of the Negroes in the United State* who earned doctorate degrees in religious fields during the past decade received them at Boston University, according to a recent survey conducted by Dr. Shelby Rooks of the Fund for Theological Education at Princeton, New Jer sey. Fourteen out of the twenty-six l doctorates awarded to Negroes in this country from 1953-1963 were given by the University's School of Theology in conjunction with the Graduate School and some of the graduates have already risen to prominent places in American society.
