Many Hi School Students
Take Part In Howard Study
WASHINGTON. D. C.— Thirty
eight eophomore and junior honor
students from high schools in 13
states and the District are current
ly pertcipating in a college-level
eight week, cummer research pro
ject at Howard University. The
program is designee to improve
their skills in the sciences.
The students, studying under
a grant from the National
Science Foundation, are re
search participants in chemis
try, dentistry, microbiology,
pathology, pharmacology, phy
sics snd mathematics, and
zoology. The project, now in
its sixth year at Howard, be
gpn June 22 and ends August
14.
Special classes in electronics,
glass blowing and related shopwork
also are Included In the program.

selected laboratory skills, accord
ing to Dr. Herman R. Branson,
professor and head of the Uni
versity's Department of Physics,
