Fifty-six college students from 14
schools in the Carolines are em
ployed in a variety of summer jobs
with Carolina Power & Light Com
pany.
The jobs they hold are a* varied
as their major courses of study.
Thirty-eight of the 1964 ‘ class are
working toward engineering de
grees. Other majors range from
liberal arts to industrial manage
ment.

a local hospital early Wednesday,
July 9, following a brief illness. He

versity of North Carolina. Wingate,
Wilmington, Wake Forest and Cho
wan.
Eleven of the students are em
ployed at CP&L electric generating
plants; eleven in system operations;
construction and shop, six in line
engineering; six in meter reading;
five in ralays and electronics; three
in the system meter section; two in
line operations, and one ach in dis
trict operations; data processing;
the general office; and warehouse.
A native of Edenton. Holley was
principal of tha Gough Junior High
School. Waynesboro, Georgia, serv
ed as teacher of science and mathe
matics at the E. J. Hayes High
School Williams ton, and at the
GRugblia High School, gummas -
field, until he assumed the princi
pals hip of the Lee Elementary
School at Sanford, about 10 years ’
ago. He returned to Guilford Cora- j
ty last September to assume the j;
poet he held until his death. |:
