Mr. Haywood was reappointed by a unanimous vote last month and will serve until 1969 under the present appointment. Ha was the recent recipient an expression of appreciation from members es the Raleigh Oty Conned for the services rendered and his willingness te work for better boosing for all ettisena of the Raleigh area. The city’s mayor, James W (Jim) Reid, wrote a letter of re appointment to Mr. Haywood as a member of the Raleigh Housing Authority of the City of Raleigh. He first began service with the RHA on April 11, 1963. A product of the Raleigh Public Schools, Haywood also attended Bricks Junior College, National Training School, now North Car olina College, Durham, and Shaw University. Coast Guard Reserve in the pay grade they held at time of discharge. During the term of enlistment, which may be 3, 4 or 6 years, Coast Guard Reservists attend weekly drill meetings in their home town. Once a year they devote two weeks to training away from home.
