He was buried with Masonic honors near bis residence on Sunday after noon intbe presence of a large concourse of people, which spoke in no uncertain terms of the esteem in which be was held as a man and' a Mason by our people. Deceased was a good man, and one who will be sorely missed. OBITUARY, . B. J-Councill, the subject of this sketch, was born Jan, 28. 1845. and departed this life Feb. 15, 190Graged 61 years and 18 days. He joined the Methodist church while youngand lived a member of the same until his death. He leaves a wife and little daughter, Pauline, with a host of relatives and friends to mourn his depart ure, but we mourn not as those who have no hope. He wasadevotedfather;a proud and happy father; his heart was brave anif true, and his deeds of goodness as a ronr" panion will make bis equals lew. He bore his sufferings with out a murmur a n-i had great hopes of reeovery until the last. When asked by a rela tives as to his future hopes, he said; ''Don't be uneasy about me. 1 am all right." While his body is sleeping the sleep of death, his soul is at eace with God. David says: "I will both lay me down in peace and sleep, for Thou, Lord, only maketh me dwell in safety." In the deaih of brother Councill the county has lost a noble citjZ'n; his Iriends an obliging neighbor. It grieved our hearts to let him go. and oh, how much we miss him, but we must humbly submit to the di fine will of God. knowing He doeth all things well. May the Lord comfort the bereaed ones, an t may we all look forward with hope and joy to the time of reun ion when there shall be no more death, neither sorrow nor crying.
