The above covers in the main the life of one of the most wonder ful charucters Watauga has ever produced. He was strictly a self made man. He worked his way up through difficulties, until he had reached heights of which any man might be proud. Intellec tual, bright and possessing a charming personality he was the life of any crowd, in which he might be thrown. We would not do injustice to his a.'ra iry by saying he had no faults, for we all have them, but we would weave this undying chaplet of immortells and keep it Iresh iu our memories torever. "He lov ed his fellow-man," and may his name like lien Adhems of old, be found among those whom God loves best. Our sympathies ure extended to the bereaved ones, and lanje connection. Col. Mose Harshaw has come forward with a scheme to restore harmony m the ranks of the It p iblican party. His idea is to throw both Morehead and Pun eat) to the whales and let two new mt-n "who can command the respect of both the Moreiiead and Duncan followers be fleeted." Where is he uoing to find any such two men, we would line to know? Mose himself knows that he would not be satisfied with anybody short ol a red-hot Ronsoveit man, and he could'nt expect the other fellows to give hiuitLeodds Hispl in isa beau tilul one in theory, but nothing short of a bloody revolution could put it into practice. -Char Jotte Chronicle.
