y ;.;4;t::":v:'":V.:'-' Watauga democrat R. C. RIVERS, Editor and Proprietor Thursday, Feb. 26, 1920. Chattanooga Architect Visits Boons Mr. C. W. Carlton, Architect, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, came to Boone last Friday to meet the buiMmg committee, of the .Meth odist church. The committee made a contract with Mr. Carl ton for plans and specifications for the new church building. The building planned combines nso, beauty, and economy. With normal growth Booue and the Training School, the building will nerve admirably for at least twen-ty-iive years. The pews in the auditorium proper seat 285. Back of these pews are six class rooms, and in Iho gallery are seven class rooms and in the gallery are seven class rooms. By using these and put ting in extra chairs there can be placed in easy sound and sight of the pulpit 750 people. Back of the pulpit are choir and organ space, ladies' parlor and pastor's study. Under the auditorium, on the ground floor are an assembly room, eleven class rooms, fur nace room, storage room. In the d mie is a room to hold 150 men. Evary foot of space in the build ing can be used. I quote from the Reverend D. M. Li taker, one of our best church builders: "You can get 50 per cent more building in this plan for the same money than with any other plan in use. This plan of building is I r T" 1 nil !n I t O 1 .ml Linn - M I pe rfect proportions. It does not have to have ornaments to make it look good. It is commanding i'i its classic beauty just from its perfect li,nes of architecture." J. R. WALKER. Training School Items.
