Entered at tho post office at Boone N. C. as second class mail matter. Thursday, June 22, 1922. Foreign Advertising Representative THE AMERICAN PRESS ASSOCIATION DINNER FOR JULY THE FOURTH. The Watauga Post American Legion is straining every nerve to make the Fourth of July cele bration in Boone the biggest, the best aud the longest to be re membered of any one of its kind ever held in the western part of the State, and it seems they are going tn succeed, if untiring en ergy well expended, judicous ad vertising and the help of all our people, locally, stand for any thing. The boys are dealing with such things as speakers for the occasion, aeroplanes, bands, and ways and means by which mon ey can be raised to defray the big expense of the occasion, but, to our mind, one of the most im portant features of the occasion is not being stressed enough as the Glorious Fourth approaches, and that is dinner for the vast crowd of people that is sure to be here on that day. The soldier boys from four counties are ex pected,' and the assembly will number well up into the thou sands. To feed them is a duty that must be performed by the good housewives of our dear old county, and ourwomen, God bless 'em, has never failed when the needs, comforts or pleasures of the boys who fought our battles "over there", were at stake." All this preliminary to insisting that each familly bring a well-filled hamper of the best food procur able. The Fourth is to be a red letter day in Boone, and the din ner, which 'will' be of the best, ,one ot Vxo attractions, about the noon tibur. OFF TO GREENSBORO. Mr. Editor: The Boone Fork Manufacturing Company, thru their attorneys at Asheville and Baltimore has caused several of, our citizens to be summoned be fore Judge Boyd in the Federal Court ar Greensboro today for contempt, all. because these la boring men havg been seeking in ojr State courts of law to col lect the hard-earned money this Company owes them and fail and refuse to pay. Judge Boyd, of tho Federal Court, is a great Judge, and we expect nothing unjust at his hands. Here's to you, boys, we are with you with a whole heart. Reported.
