The attendance continues with a high average at Sunday school and preaching services. The teachers' council, which meets monthly, was hi session Sunday afternoon v'th ill officers and Teachers present to assist the superintendent of the Sunday school check up the work of the year and make plans for the future. Rankin, superintendent. Preaching Sunday morning and evening. The pastor will preach Sunday at Blowing Rock at 11 a. m. and 7:30 p. m. A cordial welcome is extended to all. V" CHURCH DEDICATION The recently completed Baptist church on .Meat Camp will be dedicated on Sunday, October 10t,h. All A I! churches in the county are invited to attend the service. U. D. C. CHAPTER ORGANIZED HERE A number tit ladies of Boone, Blowing Rock and vicinity met at the horr.e of Mrs Tracy Council! Tuesday night of last week and organized the Watauga Chapter, United Daughters of the Confederacy. The following officers were elected: Mrs. Tracy Council!, president; Mrs. T. H. w ' Coffey, vice president; Mrs. Cliff MeComiel!, treasurer; Mrs. doc Hardin. registrar; .Mrs. 1. G. Greer, historic.!., and Miss Jenny Todd, secretary. All ladle- of the county who are eligible to membership art invited to join this chapter. The next meeting v/iil be held an October 27, at a place to be announced inter. MATNEY MATTERS Motuey, Oct. 2?Rev. Watts began a revival meeting at the Bftputt church here Sunday night. . The twin babies of Mr.- and Mrs. Shook were buried Sunday afternoon at the M. K. church: Mr. R. H. Askew conducted the funeral services. Mid-term examinations were given this week and the majority of the pupils passed with good grade.-. Mr. Lee Carrender's daughter, of Lees-Mcftse Institute, Banner Eik, was operated on Saturday a/t' ernoon for appendicitis. The library which Mr. Askew and Mjl-s Triplet,, have given to the school lias proved niuch help to the schollars. The library ha.- been named the f A. T.
