selection of the Institute of:
'government guldelx>ok as the basis;
for the program has met with wide I
and popular approval. Jn addition to I
furnishing an excellent analysis of;
the causes of accidents and means;
for their prevention, it is perhaps the
only guidebook which has been written
on the subject from the standpoint.
exclusively of this state.
The institute's study also includes
a valuable digest of the North Carolina
highway and safety laws and a
re-print of Furnas' much-talked-about
article, "?And Sudden Death" which
is said to take 10 miles off every

Boone Hi Students Receive Holidays
Tiie students of Boone Hi School
were required to attend school "only
half of the day on Thanksgiving.
They had intended to attend school
all day due to the fact that this
school opened later than other county
schools; therefore the half holiday
came as a welcome diversion. The
students felt they had at least one
thing for which to be thankful for
on this Thanksgiving Bay.
All students having perfect attendance
records for the month of November
received as reward a halfholiday
on last Saturday afternoon.
Of course this perfect attendance included
only those who had not been
tardy during the month as well as
having been present every day.
