PAGE SIX Notes From Office Of the County Agent The farmers of the county -.vho are making the most money on sheep are the farmers who are using good pureIn ed rams. A good purebred ram. bred to an average flock of sbecp, will produce enough extra weight and quality in a crop of lambs to pay for a ram the first year. Good ranif are as high and scarce as they were last year. However, the county agent has been able to locate e.ght good registered Hampshire rams which the farmers of the county can buy at from $20 to $25 each del.vered in Boone Any farmer interested in securing ore of these rants should, get in touch with \V. K. Collins, county agent, as soon as possible. Drenching Sheep All sheep in the county should be drenched for stomach worms at least once a month for the next three months. It is very important that -> 11 f>WA larr?V?= hfii 'mirwr Van* for ewes get three good drenches from three weeks to a month apart. A good drench for sheep is to dissolve one ounce of bluestone in three quarts of water and give grown sheep four ounces of the solution and lambs one-half its much Another good drench is to dissolve one ounce of Biuestone in one gallon of water, and one ounce of black leaf 40 to this solution and give four ounces of this solution to grown sheep and half the same to lambs. The worm capsule, sold by the Rawleigh or Watkins dealers, is probably as good if not better than drenching. More Sheep Should ttept Xothing will pay better on a farm, than a few good sheep. A large number of farmers in the county should buy a few good ewe lambs this year for a foundation flock of sheep.
