August 1G in the basement of the Boont Baptist church and the annual ladies' night banquet of the commerce group promises to he one of the most enjoyable events of the l season. * David Ovens, vice-president and general manager of the J B. Ivev store in Charlotte, wilt deliver tHe banquet address. Besides being one of the leaders in the mercantile field, Mr. Ovens is known a; one of the souths most entertaining after dinner speakers. A film travelogho. "The Golden Gate International Exposition." will be presented its a feature of tiie program. and consists of a preview of the Golden Gate international exposition, San Francisco. Those who have not made the trip to the west coast exposition will want to see this film. Those who have been will wish to see it again. Mr. H. W. Wilcox, president of the Chamber of Commerce, urges everyone to come. Those who can't have I their wife or girl friend along are f urged to come anyway. i Watauga Native Dies In Caldwell Lenoir, Aug. 9?Funeral rites were held Wednesday at 2 p. m. for Mrs. H. G. Church; two daugliters, Mrs. Sam Everhnrt and Ethel Church, all of Lenoir: four brothers, Arnold. Leonard, Charlie, Jasper and Conrad Story of Blowing Rock: and three sisters, Mrs. Effie Robbins, Mrs. Delia Triplett and Mrs. Moquetty Church, all of Blowing Rock.
