Miss Margaret Jon Hardin, of Greensboro College, spent last weekend at her home on the Wilkcsboro Road. Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Coleman arid Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Coleman, Jr., returned to Tabor City for the Thanksgiving holidays. Miss Virginia Norris, of Richmond, Va., spent the week-end at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Granville Norris. in Boont. Mr. and Mrs Richard Olscn and Mrs. Richard Kclley are spending the Thanksgiving holidays in Norfolk, Va. Mrs. J. F. C., last week where Mrs Cooke did observation in the Parker school system. Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Vannoy and son< Nest, of Fish Tail, Mont., arrived in the county last Thursdey where they will spend an indefinite period visitinfi with relatives. Mr. D. O. Hay, of Harlowton Mont., With Mrs. Ray. is spendint the week with relatives in the county. Mr. Ray has been employed b> the Milwaukee Railway for 30 years and is serving as a conductor. Lees-McRae College Gets New Dormitory Banner Elk?Dr. W. C. Tate, presi dent of Lees-McRae College, h?; just announced the receipt of a giffor the construction of a dormitorj at the college. The building, donation of Miss Annie J. Reid, of Orlando, Fla., will be used for yotirtj men, and will be known as the-Janei M. Reid Memorial Cottage in mem ory of Miss Reid's mother. In 1038 Miss Reid and her mother joihtlj gave the W. W. Reid Memorial Cottage, a boys' dormitory, to LeesMcftae College in memorj' of theii husband and father. Buildings yet sought for the college7-as part of the development program, - include an administratior building, library, science1 laboratory and equipment, cold storage plant and additional faculty homes. The hospital seeks funds for tli< erection of a clinic building for it out-patient department, a nurses homeland additional doctors' homes Buildings sought, by the orphanag< include a much-needed recreatioi building, and a manual trainini building and equipment for thi boys and girls.
