Watauga-Ashe Medical Society.
Officers were elected as follows:
President, Dr. D. C. Jones, Jef
ferson; vice-president, Dr. H. B.
Perry. Boone; secretary-treasurer,
Dr. Robert R. King, Jr.. Boone;
program chairman, Dr. Robert P
King, Jr., to work with Dr. L. D.j
Hagaman. Boone, and Dr. C. T.
Jones, Jefferson. The following
business was transacted:
The name of the organization
if officially changed to the Ashe
Watauga Medical Society.
The time of meeting will bej
monthly on the third Wednesday!
night at 7 p. m. evcept during tfye1
months of December. January,1
and February when no meeting
will be held.
The place of meeting shall:
alternate between Ashe and
Watauga counties.
All meetings will be dinner
meetings. j
| The following doctors were!
'present at the first meeting: Dr.
star witnesses against Green and
if the evidence of these "soiled
doves" is to be admitted, it seems
that the trial may result right
seriously for the accused.
Rev. David Green of Meat
Camp has been vera ill for sev
eral d?y? past, but re now much
improved.
Dr. R. B. Killian of Lincolnton,
who has been in Watauga a few
days looking after his farm and
other business, left on his return
Monday. The Doctor is an en
thusiastic railroad man and is
very hopeful that the road from
Lenoir to Blowing Rock will be
built and that in the near future.
In our last issue we failed to
note that John H. Cook of Deer
field, has sold his farm to Gaither
Critcher of Ashe county, and
moved to Sullivan county, Tenn.,
where he has purchased a good
farm near Bluff City.
The r#ilroad proposition froml
Lenoir to Blowing Rock wash
somewhat mature, but the or
ganization was postponed until
the present financial embarras-|
sment is over. The road is much/
needed, and will be built, we arel
informed, if the financial condi- J
tions improve. The Mountain City!
railroad has also been postponed. |
