Brown and family have moved into the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elcana Vandyke at Deerfield, where he will live in the future. Friend Harve Deal, who has been doing business for W. L. Hendrix of Stony Fork, for some time, has resigned, and will ac cept a like position with a North Wilkesboro firm after the holi days. Perhaps the most noted trial that will come up at Lenoir court! this week is that of one Green, who was recently bound over charged with complicity in the murder of Lawrence Nelson. Mag Lewis and Ome Greer, two disreputable girls, who figured largely in the trial of Kendall and Vickers, who are now serv ? ing long terms in the state pri " son for the horrible crime, are the Physicians Of Two Counties Organize On Wednesday night November] 20th a number of the physicians of Ashe and Watauga countiesj met in Boone to reorganize the1 Watauga-Ashe Medical Society. Officers were elected as follows: President, Dr. D. C. Jones, Jef ferson; vice-president, Dr. H. B. Perry. Boone; secretary-treasurer, Dr. Robert R. King, Jr.. Boone; program chairman, Dr. Robert P King, Jr., to work with Dr. L. D.j Hagaman. Boone, and Dr. C. T. Jones, Jefferson. The following business was transacted: The name of the organization if officially changed to the Ashe Watauga Medical Society. The time of meeting will bej monthly on the third Wednesday! night at 7 p. m. evcept during tfye1 months of December. January,1 and February when no meeting will be held. The place of meeting shall: alternate between Ashe and Watauga counties. All meetings will be dinner meetings. j | The following doctors were! 'present at the first meeting: Dr. star witnesses against Green and if the evidence of these "soiled doves" is to be admitted, it seems that the trial may result right seriously for the accused. Rev. David Green of Meat Camp has been vera ill for sev eral d?y? past, but re now much improved. Dr. R. B. Killian of Lincolnton, who has been in Watauga a few days looking after his farm and other business, left on his return Monday. The Doctor is an en thusiastic railroad man and is very hopeful that the road from Lenoir to Blowing Rock will be built and that in the near future. In our last issue we failed to note that John H. Cook of Deer field, has sold his farm to Gaither Critcher of Ashe county, and moved to Sullivan county, Tenn., where he has purchased a good farm near Bluff City. The r#ilroad proposition froml Lenoir to Blowing Rock wash somewhat mature, but the or ganization was postponed until the present financial embarras-| sment is over.
