Patrol Reports Many Arrests Raleigh. ? State Highway Pa trol headquarters today reported 11,908 arrests for traffic viola tions in November including 749 for drunken driving. Another "7,903 Tar Heels motor ists were handed citations and ordered to appear in court. 'During the month the patrol ac tivity report showed 2,352 acci dent investigations, 82,300 vehicle inspections and 1IS.M6 spot driv ers license inspections. AM) MKS. STANLEY A. nULHjtSi Miss Lola Doris Love Exchanges Vows With Sgt. Stanley A. Hodges Miss Lola Doris Love, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Coy Lov^ of Vilas became the bride of Staff Sgt. Stanley A. Hodges on Christmas Day in the Oak Grove Baptist church. Rev. A. C. Moody, brother-in law of the bride, performed the double ring ceremony before a background of baskets of white gladioli and chrysanthemums and greenery insterspersed with seven branched candlebra holding light ed white tapers. Wedding music was presented by Miss Betty Lea Anderson, pianist, and Ralph Beashears, vocalist. The bride, given in marriage by her brother, William B. Love" wore a gown of white slipper satin with fitted bodice buttoned to the high pointed collar with self covered buttons. The long sleeves ended in calls lilly points over the hands. The full skirt fell to the floor in a short train. Her finger tip veil of illusion was at tached to a close fitting cap of satin illusion. She carried a white Bible topped with an orchid. The bride's only attendant was Mrs. Guy Norris of Boone. She wore a gown of light blue taffeta fashioned after that of the bride and carried a nosegay of red ros es and white carnations. Thomas C. Hodges, uncle of the groom served as best man. Ushers were Dale and Joe Hodges, broth ers of the groom. TKe mother of the bride wore a green suit with black accessor ies and a corsage of red carna tions. Immediately following the cere mony, a reception was held in the assembly room of the church. After a short wedding trip, the couple will make their home in Spokane, Washington where Sgt. Hodges is serving with the Unit ed States Air Force. MRS. ROBERT A. Willard before her recent marriage was Miai Flo Byrd, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Byrd of Banner Elk, Route Number 1. The wedding took place in St. Peters Church in Glenside, Penna. The bride wore a white eyelet embroidery organdy dress of bal lerina length and carried a bou quet of white carnations with two white orchids in the center. The headpiece was alio made of white carnations. The matron of honor, Mrs. Aud rey Willard, sister-in-law of the groom, wore a green taffata dress ballerina length and carried a bouquet of pink carnations. Her headpiece was also of pink car nations. Mr. John H. Willard, brother o t the groom, stood as beet man. R. Coffey and the late Mr. Coffey at 4:00 o'clock on December 20, with the Rev. Ray mond Hendrix officiating.' The bride wore a brown suit with dark brown accesaries trim med in white. The corsage con sisted of yellow rose buds. After the (*remony the couple left for parts of Virginia and Washington, D. C. Camera Gub To Have Session The newly formed Blue Ridge Camera Club will have its first regular meeting of 1953 on Thurs day night, January 8, at 8 p. m. in the college science building. Palmer Blair, president, wishes j to invite all of the people to at tend who have shown an interest in the local club. Two dollars will enroll any new member and pay for his first months dues. Meetings will be held every oth er Thursday during 1953. Thursday's program will be a "Best Print Night" consisting of members showing two of their best pictures and explaining their good and bad points. Snapshots will be shown on the Opaque projector and enlargements will be shown on a spotlighted easel. The entire group will then vote on the best picture on a score card. All people who have attended one or more meetings are asked to join the clilb at this time so that the club membership will be representative of the interest shown in photography in Boone and Watauga County. Mrs. Clawson ii a graduate of Reynolds High School, Winston Salem. and is now employed as secretary for Hine-Bagby Cloth ing store, Winston-Salem. Mr. Clawson attended Appala chian High School in Boone be fore entering the U. S. Navy, where he served for three years. He is employed by the Western Electric company in Winston-Sa lem. Immediately after the cere mony the couple left on a wed ding trip, and to visit a brother, Doyle Clawson, of the U. S. Navy, who is stationed at Norfolk, Va. Upon returning they will make their home with the bride's par ents. This was fol lowed by the reading of the Christmas story from the Bible by Mrs. F.nnis Byers. Mn. A. t. Moretz then led A prayer. Next the report of the last meeting was road and approved. Following this' Miji. Eanis Byers told the [ story of "The First Christmas Tree in America." Mrs. Clyde Williams otld of her most inter esting experiences during her Christmas shopping. The club was happy to have Misses Olive Moretz and Beth Williams with them. Miller, Route 2. Boone, N. C., recently graduated from the Army Anti-Aircraft Artillery School in Brigstock. England. He completed a three-week course stressing fire control and the maintenance of artillery wea pons. Miller, stationed in England since July 1951, is a machine gun ner in Battery C of the 4th Anti Aircraft Artillery Battalion. He entered the Army in Febru ary of 1951.
