Martin had their baby daughter, Peggy, christened at the Presbyterian Church Sunday afternoon and following the services they held open house at their home from 3:00 to 4:30. HALL SMITH, who observed the 50th anniver sary of their marriage on April 12th at their home in Boone. Thoy have five sons and, one daughter: Hall Smith. Jr., Brevard; Frank Smith. Rayette, Ala.; Dr. Burke M. Smith, Roanoke, Va.; Mrs. George Elmore, Tarboro, N. C. There are six grandsons and two grand daughters. A number of friends were received at an informal re ception from three to six o'clock. Miss Virgie Olive Parsons of Deep Gap, N. C., and Mr. Kenneth Y Moretz ol Boone, Route No. 2, were married at the Lutheran Par sonage in Boone Saturday afternoon, April 17th, at 4:00 9'clock. The Rev. Edwin F. Troutman officiated in the wedding ceremony, which was performed amidst spring flowers and witnessed by several close friends. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Par sons of Deep Gap. The gsoom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Moretz of Boone, route 2. The couple will make their home in East Boone. Mr. Moretz is a member of the Moretz Upholstering Co., in Boone. ?
