Mr. Carlton Swift, who has been government work in Frank fort and Munich, Germany, for two years, returned Friday to the home of his mother, Mrs. Crete Swift of Sugar Grove, for a month's visit. Glenn school. Mr. Claude Winebarger of Boone spent the week end visit ing with friends in Henderson and Warrenton, N. C. While ^in Warrenton he attended the wed ding of Sgt. Charles Pridgen and Miss Kathleen Overby. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley South and son, David, left Saturday to make their home at Hills boro. Mr. South will enter the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and Mrs. South will teach at the high school at Hillsboro. Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Wilson, Jr. and son, Brandley, of Salisbury are Visiting Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Wilson. Mr. Wilson is with the North Carolina Theft and Regis tration Enforcement Division with headquarters in Salisbury. Dr. J. -B. Hagaman, Jr., who recently joined the U. S. Navy, spent the week end with his family here. Mrs. Hagaman and their children, Diane and John, returned with him Sunday to Norfolk, Virginia, where they have established their home. Visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Paul A. Coffey Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Starnes, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Coffey of Taylorsville, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Reid and four children of Granite Falls, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Pare ancj, son of Bristol, Virginia. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hamilton spent last week in Boston, Mass achusetts, where Mr. Hamilton received a check-up at Mass. Eye and Ear Infirmary. Davis j of Monroe returned with Mrs. Bingham for a few days' visit. Miss Carter Weds William Kincaid 1 Reidsville. ? Miss Lillian Eliza beth Carter of 201 E. Bessemer Ave., Greensboro, was married to William Howard Kincaid of Guilford College at 4 p. m., Sat urday, August 28 in Main Street Methodist Church. The bride groom's uncle, the Rev. George W. Clay of Salisbury, a Methodist minister, officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Garrett Pinkney Carter. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Wilfong Kincaid of Guilford Col lege. The couple entered church to gether. The bride had her sister in-law, Mrs. ?lwood Carter, for matron of honor and Miss Joyce Kincaid of Guilford College, sis ter of the bridegroom, was maid of honor. The bridegroom had his brother-in-law, Luke Conrad of Greensboro, for best man. An other brother - in - law, Julian Wright of Greensboro, ushered with Mr. Carter. Music was giv en by Mrs. Curtis Basham, org anist, and J. Oliver Strickland, tenor. The bride wore a dress of white embroidered silk organza and a shoulder-length tulle veil caught to a pearl -studded lace cap. A bolero faille jacket made with staqd-up wide collar covered the strapless bodice of the dress which had a scalloped hemline ballerina-length. The bride wore short white mitts and carried a white prayer book topped with a white orchid. The honor attendants wore identical gowns in aquamarine and yellow net over taffeta. They wore stoles over the low-cut dresses made with square neck line and ballerina-length bouffant skirt. Mitts and headpieces matching the dress color com pleted their costume. They car ried mixed bouquets of chrysan themums. < Hi The bride's mother wore rose lace over taffeta with navy ac cessories and the bridegroom's mother was in blue silk shantung. Both had corsages of white roses. After a weeks' trip to Canada, Mr. and Mrs. Kincaid will live in Guilford College. The bride, a graduate of Reids ville High School and of King's Business College, Greensboro, is employed as secretary by A. M. Pullen tc Co., in Greensboro. Mr. Kincaid, a graduate of Bethel High School near Boone, is con struction superintendent for Kirk man It Koury, Inc., of Greens boro. He is also associated with his brother-in-law in Libby Hill Seafood Restaurant near Greens boro. Pickard Speaks To ' Rotary Club * ? Mr. G. Fish Fry At Ashler Lodge There will be a fish fry at the Ashler Masonic Lodge No. 373, Deep Gap, Saturday night, Sept ember 11, from 6:30 to 8 o'clock. Following the fish fry, Hugh Q. Alexander, U. S. Congressman from the Ninth North Carolina District, will speak to the gath ering. Also expected to speak is Dr. A. D, Gray, superintendent of Oxford Orphange. Plates will be $1.90 for adults and $1.00 for children, said Mast er C. A. Greene, in making the announcement. Proceeds will be used to help pay for the new lodg? hall, he said.
