United Fund Campaign Endorsed By Chamber uur 10 me laci mat me cnar ity, health und welfare cam paigns have become so%umerous |S in Boon*, and the solicitations and donation* are by a limited group, the Chamber of Commerce ' hat endorsed a United campaign, designed to cover all organiza tions willing to participate A committee composed of 1. V. Caudill, O. K. Richardson, and Glenn R. Andrews has been ap pointed to work with committees from other organizations to fur ther investigste the possibilities of establishing a United Fund campaign here. * Mrs. Corky Owsley, chairman of the co-ordinating committee, representing the other organiza tions will in the near {yture call a committee nutting ot an me organization* rfproimffd. The Worthwhile Woman* Club, Junior Woman* Club, Lion* Club, Rotary Club, Merchant* Auocia tion, Junior Order, Eastern Star, Buiineu and Profexional Wo man' Club and any other organi zation that might be interested are to be included in the United Charity Fund. There are many advantage* in a United Campaign. The principle advantage* are that there i* only one lolicitation to cover all aolici tating, it would be diitributed to a much larger number of people and there would be a planning committee which would organize local need* and a* far a* pouible *ee that they were met. I have been here four days and wish to say was good. The service Was excellent. My bill was rea sonable. I don't know what their expenses are but do know that no one else does unless they are connected with a hospital as manager or director. The local hospitals are much more conveinent and cheaper than going out of town. I have tried it before we had an estab lished hospital in Watauga Coun ty. We have two good hospitals, nne in Boone, and one in Blow ing Rock. Boost our local hospi tals.
