Paul Martin of Mayodan, be came the brida of Jack Thomas Norris at 7 p. m. today in the Firtt Baptist Church of Mayodan. Mr. Noma it the son of Mr. and Mrs. Granville Norris of Boone. The Rev. George Shore performed the eeremony. Wedding music was presented by Mrs. Ben Runkle of Winston-Salem, cousin of the bride, soloist, and Mrs. Berkley Young, organist The bride was given in marriage by her uncle, Clyde Martin. She wore a floor length gown of white cantilly lace and tulle over satin fashioned with fitted bodice and Queen Anne Collar. Her full gath ered skirt of tulle was made with aide cascades of lace and tulle. ?Her veil ofUlutton fell frem a fit ted .Juliet cap outlined in aeed pearls and sequins, and ahe car ried a bouquet of white gardenias, baby's breath and stephanotis. Mrs. Paul Carter, Jr. of Pine Hall was matron of honor. She wore a long gown of pink net and lace with full bouffant skirt and net stole. Miss Janue Pyrtle and Mia* Alice Shelton, both of Mayo dan, were bridesmaids. They wore blue dresses similar to the matron of honor's. The attendants carried bouquets of mixed summer flow en. Wanda Sue Overman was flower girl and Sammy Stevens was ring bearer. Rinley Norris, brother of the bridegroom from Marion, was best man. Uahers were A. Paul Martin, Jr., brother of the bride; Bobby Norris, Boone, brother of the bridegroom, and Lorenza Clinard of Winaton-Salem. The bride's mother entertained with a reception in the church fellowship hall immediately follow ing the ceremony. Assisting in serving were Mrs. J. .B. Shelton, Mrs. Earlean Stevens, Mrs. Ernest Lewis, Mrs. T. W. Shelton and Mrs. Finley Norris. After a short wadding trip the couple will be at hone in Boon* for the summer. Mrs. Norris gr?d> uated from Draughon Business College, Winston-Salem. She re ceived a B. S. degree in business administration from High Point College. Mr. Norris received a B. S. de gree In English from Appalachian State Teachers College. Boone. Both are faculty members at Mad ison High School. Mr and Mrs. Thomas Ashley of Shouni, Tenn., spent Sunday with Mrs. Keiley Osborne. Mrs. J. L. Coffey, Sr., who has been a patient at Blowing Rock Hospital for a few days, has re turned to her home at Deep Oap. She is improved. WILLIAM EARL PEN1CK Miss Nancy Dee Winkler, daugh ter of Mrs. Stewart Winkler and the late Mr. Winkler, became the1 bride of William Earl Peniek, son of Mrs. Edna Penick, at 4:30 p. m. on Wednesday, June 13, in the First Baptist Church. The Rev. L. H. Hollingsworth and the Rev. George Arthur per formed the double ring ceremony. Mrs. .James Malcolm, vocalist, of Winston-Salem and Mrs. Graydon Eggers, organist, presented the wedding music. Mr. Hoyt Safrit di rected an octette of singers for the "Pocessional." The church was decorated with ferns, palms, baskets of white glad ioli and seven-branched candelabra holding lighted Cathedral tapers. Thpmas Stewart Winkler, Jr., gave Ms sister in marriage. She wore a gown of French Illusion and Chantilly lace over Ivory satin, fashioned with a scalloped neck line embroidered with seed pearls. The Empire style dress had a bouf fant skirt with scalloped insets of Chantilly lace, and her fingertip length veil fell from a cornet of pearls and sequins. She carried her father's Masonic Bible, cov ered in white satin and topped with a yellow-throated orchid. Her only jewelry was a itrand of pearlf, gift of the bridegroom. Mra. Thomas Stewart Winkler. Jr., was matron of honor, and Miss Anna Boyce Winkler was maid of honor. Jeannie Winkler, the bride's niece, wai flower girl. They wore ice blue nylon tulle dresses. Bridesmaid* were Miss Jeanette Reid of Mooresville, Miss Shirley Berry of Charlotte, Miss Barbara Winkler and Miss Betty Swain of Boone. They wore corn flower blue tulle dresses. All the attend ants carded baskets of blue car nations. The bride's mother wore a pale blue lace dress with matching ac cessories. The bridegroom's mo ther wore a navy blue dress with white accessories. _ The bride was graduated frorrf Appalachian High School and Is now a junior at Appalachian State Teachers College. The bridegroom, a graduate of the same high school and of Appalachian State Teacher* College, is employed as manager of Southern Agricultural Insecticides plant here. Rehearsal Dinner Served at Gateway The rehearial dinner {or the wedding of Miss Nancy Dee Wink ler and Mr Earl Penick waa held at Gateway Restaurant on Tues day, June 12, at 6:00 p. m. Host esses were Mrs. Ruth Redmond, Mra. Paul Winkler, Mrs China Lavendar and Mra. Tom Winkler, Miss Winkler waa presented a white carnation corsage and Mr. Penick received a white carnation boutonaiere. The center table held an ar rangement of white peoniea flank ed by four-tiered candelabra with white tapers. Those attending included mem bers of the wedding party and out of-town guests. Luncheon Given For Wedding Party Mrs. Joseph Winkler, and Mrs. Stewart Winkler were hostesses at a luncheon at Gateway Restau rant last week for the attendants, i their husbands and wives and out of-town guests who were here for the wedding of Miss Nancy Dee Winkler and Mr. Earl Penick. Flower arrangements were of white peonies and blue delphinium. Twenty-eight guests attended.
