King in Mable, N. C., June 14, 1800, and moved to the Cav endish area in the spring of 1902. They have lived there since and have been engaged in farming and cattle raising. Mr., McGuire was overseer for the roads in that area until form ation of the old North Fork High way District in 1909. He then served as district highway director until 1924. Roads built under his supervision include the Cavendiah grade, Peck grade, Freeman Creek grade, and many others. Mr. McGuire has been Demo cratic precinct committeeman since 1918 and Mrs. McGuire has backed him all the way. She is well-known lor her outgoing personality and friendly mann?r.
