Thoae receiving excellent rating* were Margaret Dancy. North Wllkaahoro; Camellia Beagle, Brenda Aultman and Carolyn Vaughn of Hickory; Carolyn Ray, Marietta Atkins and Charlea Adair of Burnaville; Julia Kower, Morganton; Jane Story and Shalbie Jean Duncan of Marion; and Doris Jacob* and Billy Praltt of Spindale. In the band division the clauea of music played wer* from Grade I to Grade V. Grade I being the moat simple to play and Grade V the must difficult. Thoae playing Class V music and receiving excellent ratings ware Marion, Morganton aad Appalachian High SAool Bands. In Claa* IV muiic, Drexel High 8cbool received the rating of (uperlor and Wilkes Central and Valdese received the rat' ing of excellent. In Class II music, Hickory received a superior rating; Glen Alpine, excellent and Beaver Creek, fair. Those receiving superior ratings in Class II were Hickory and Newton Conover Junior High Bands. Also in Clsss II and receiving good ratings were Hudson and Appalachian Junior High School Bands. The Appalachian Training School Band, playing in Class I, received an excellent rating. In the choral division the classes of music played were from Grade I to Grade IV. The following 1* a list of the class of music, the schools participating and the ratings received: Class IV: Morganton Mixed Chorus and Hickory Girls Glee Club, excellent; Valdese and Hickory Mixed Choruses, good. Class III: Appalachian Mixed Chorus; superior; Wilkes Central Mixed Chorus and West Mecklenburg Glee Cltib^excaljent; Newton Conover, West Mecklenburg Mixed Choruses, WUkes Central Girls Club, good; Beaver Creak Mixed Chorus, fair. Clan II: Appalachian Girls Glee Cluty superior; Cliffside Girls Glee Club, excellent, and Glen Alpine and Cllffside Mixed Choruses, good. Clasa I: Appalachian Boys Glee Club, excellent. In the Junior High School Division Hickory and North Wllkesboro Mixed Choruses and Appalachian Girls Glee Club received the rating of good. Hickory Girls Glee Club received an excellent rating.
