Dews of Charlotte was elected president of the North Carolina Chapter, Telephone Pioneers of America at its annua) meeting held in Blowing Rock. June 1st. He succeeds Mr. R. E. Evans of Tarboro. Mr. Dews has been associated with Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph Company for thirtyfour years in various capacities and is now North Carolina Sales Manager with headquarters in Charlotte Mr. George W. Cox of Greensboro was elected first vice president of the organization, succeeding Mr. Dews. Mrs. Margaret Cone of Fayetteville succeeds Mrs. Blanche McManus of Charlotte as second vice president. The North Carolina Chapter of Telephone Pioneers is part of an organization of telephone men and women, both active and retired, who have had 21 or more years service in the telephone industry. It is forty-six years old and is the largest society of its kind In the world with more than 185,833 members in the United States and Canada.
