We bare been studying all about
the slaves and the tine when they
were freed; we have a map oo the
board showing how the people were
divided amonc themselves, and
how we had two presidents at the
same tine. We are reading ail we
can about Abraham linmln, and
wondering about the little boy,
born in a log cabin with a dirt
floor, reading everything be could
get his hands on, walking eight
miles to pay a three-cent debt,
spliting rails for twenty^ive cents
a day, and later achieving his
country's highest ^honor. We have
several books about Mr. Lincoln in
our libary, and we are reading
every one.
