died two years ago, waa regarded

Bobbins helped organise the
town's Chamber of Commerce and
aerved aa its first president He
alao waa influential In starting
the Blowing Bock High School,
was poatmaster for a time, open
ad the town's first theater, and
developed the Blowing Bock, for
which the town was named, mak
ing it one of the beat-known tour
tot attractions in the SUte.
His business ventures were
numerous and varied but were all
characterized by success. He own
ad a wholesale nursery, restaur
ant and built the town's first 'mo
tel. An elaborate gift shop at the
Bock la a showplace and he bead
ad the Bobbins Lumber Co.
He was the first president of
i the Blue Bidge Parkway Associa
tion, served as head of the As
sociated Chambers of Commerce
for the Parkway area, was presi
dent and long-time member of
the Blowing Bock Rotary Club and
the Blowing Bock Park Commia

The swimming pool named for
Mm was made possible by a muni
cipal bond vote in January, 1051
and is a standard, olympic-aiaa
structure requiring $40,000 to
build. Blowing Bock voters ap
proved tbe Issue by a 4 to 1 maj
from the Laurel Spring* Baptist
Church. Also, Retns-Sturdivant
Funeral Home, Mr. Kelley, Mr.
Cook and thoee assisting in any
way. Mn. Ted Wataon, Coshocton,
