H cup sifted all-purpose flour coarsely chopped (3-ounce
saran bag)
' Cream butter. Gradually add U cup of brown sugar; cream until
light Mix in vanilla, egg yolk, flour and rolled oats. Spread in a
buttered 8-inch square baking pan. Beat egg white until stiff;
gradually beat in remaining ft cup brown sugar until stiff peaks
form. Mix in semi-sweet chocolate morsels and half of walnuts.
Spread over oatmeal mixture and sprinkle with remaining walnuts.
Bake at 360 degrees 36 to 40 minutes or until meringue is golden
brown. Let cool in pan. Cut in strips. Makes about 2 dozen strips.
