Canipe will serve the local church aa interim pastor. Greenway Church will observe its third anniversary on July 2. Rev. Girls Given Church Honors Patty Robinson has attained the Queen-with-a-Scepter rank in the Greenway Baptist Church, aid Amelia Luther has attained the Queen rating, it was announced by the paster, the Rev. Herman Duncan, pas tor of First Methodist Church of Lenoir, has been named superin tendent of the North Wilkesboro District of the Western North Car olnia Methodist Conference. The appointment was announced by Bishop Nolan B. Harmon at the -conference's annual meeting held ttfitoek at Lake Junalusk*. The Rev. Mr. Duncan will replace the Rev. Garland R. Stafford, who has been superintendent for six years The Rev. Mr. Duncan will be re placed at the Lenoir church by the Rev. Julian Holmes, now pastor of Central Methodist Church in Concord. The Rev. Mr. Holmes formerly held pastorates in New ton and other North Carolina cities. The Rev. Mr. Duncan will live in North Wilkesboro, headquarters for the district. The Rev. Preston Hughes, Jr., pastor of Boone Methodist Church for two years, returns to Boone. Other pastorates in the county re main the same.
