Hill To Speak At First Baptist Dr. Samuel S. Hill, Jr., Chair man of the Department of Reli gion at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, wiU be the guest speaker on Sunday DR. SAMUEL S. HILL, JR. morning December 8, at the First Baptist Church. Dr. Hill will bring a message on "The World Mission of the Church." Dr. Hill was born in Rich mond, Virginia. He is a gradu ate of Georgetown College, Georgetown, Ky. with the AB degree. He received the MA Degree at Vanderbilt Univer sity. At Southern Baptist Thea logical Seminary he earned the BD Degree and he received the Ph. D. Degree at Duke Uni versity. He has also studied at Cambridge University on a Ro tary International Fellowship. Dr. Hill served as pastor of the Burlington Baptist Church in Kentucky and as an assist ant professor at Stetson Uni versity before coming to the University of North Carolina in 1960. In addition to his teaching Dr. Hill contributes to a number of publicatiions. He is married and is the father of two children. A cam paign to raise 128.000 for Elk Shoals Methodist Camp haa been approved by the Bi-DUtrlct Camp Committee, representing the North Wilkesboro and Viiv sten-Salem Methodist Districts Elk Shoals Methodist Camp is located in Ashe County, about five miles from West Jefferson. The money is to be used for the next stage of development of the campsite and details of the capital fund drive will be presented during the respective District Conference in Decem ber, according to Dr. Taylor Dedson of Winston-Salem, chair man of the Bi- District Camp Committee. The fund drive will be known a* the "Certificate of Invest ment Campaign" and will eon iUlute~ the only such drive an ticipated in the total develop ment of the site, according to Dr. Dodson. The Bi- District Camp Com mittee, during a November 14 session here, also approved a revision of Stage Two of the Master Plan for the camp.
