ON A TRAIN? ? rioww ???<. ourses The Employment Security off ice has announced that the fol lowing training courses have been made available under the tunpower Training Act: in urlington, eight week course lor weaver; in Ooldshoro, 30 week course for bricklayer, ap prentice; and carpenter, appren tice; in Greensboro, 40 week course for stenographer; in Hic kory 87 week course for elec trician; in Jacksonville, 49 week course for auto mechanic which Is also available in Lex ington; in Tbomasville eight Week course for weaver; in Morganton, six week course for transfer knitter; six week course tor looper, hosiery; 29 week course for knitting-machine fix er; six week course for seamless hosiery knitter; in North Wilkeaboro, 30 week course for carpenter, apprentice; in Rock Ingham, sh vcck twine tor weaver; 92 week course for au tomobile mechanic; in Rocky Mount, eight week course (or tractor operator; eight week course in ThomasviUe for trac tor operator; in Lexington, 48 week course for general wood working occup. in Wilson, 28 week course for welder combi nation; 20 week course for bricklayer, apprentice; and an eight week course for nurse aide. Trainees that enter these courses who live beyond com muting distance from the Indus trial Education Center will qual ify for subsistence and trans portation allowances in addi tion to any training allowance* for which they qualify. Train ees eligible for subsistence al lowances will receive $8.00 per day for each night that they n main AWfly frotu their place of residence. They are also eligi ble to receive transportation al lowances for one trip to the training facility at the start of the course and one trip home at the end of the course. In addi tion, they may receive transpor tation allowance not ta axeead the $5.00 subsistence, if the center is closed for one or mare continuous days and the trainee decides to return home. The availability of subsistence and transportation allowance will make it possible for a greater number of trainees to receive financial assistance to take these training courses.
