JOHN GORDON VANNOY The marriage of Miss Sarah Jane Reece and John Gordon Vannoy Was solemnized Sun day, April 10, at three o'clock at the Mabel Baptist Church in Zionville. Officiating at the double-ring ceremony was the Rev. R. C. Eggers. Mrs. Ivan Church, organist, and Miss Azalee Wilson, vocal ist, presented a program of nu pital music. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of peau de soie appliqued with re embroidered alecon lace and seed pearls. Her veil was at tached to a Crown of alencoh lace and seed pearls. She car ried a cascade bouquet of lilies of-the-valley centered with a white orchid. Mrs. Johnny Proffitt was her sister’s matron of honor. She wore a green dress of bridal satin with matching headpiece and shoes and carried a bouquet of yellow pom-poms and baby’s breath. Bridesmaids were Miss Ma deiyn Castle, Boone; Miss Kath ryn Wilson, High Point; Miss Sarah McLeod, Charlotte, and Mrs. Dudley Norris, Vilas. Their yellow satin dresses and bou quets were designed identical to that of the matron of honor. The bride’s mother wore a blue lace dress with matching accessories, and the bride groom’s mother wore a blue suit with accessories. Both wore white orchid corsages. Mr. Vernor Leonard, Winston Salem, brother-in-law of the groom, was best man. Ushers were Tony Houck of Fleetwood, Jack Lawrence, Ronnie Wind sor of Winston-Salem and Dan Williams of Zionville Mrs. Vannoy is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn J. Reece of Zionville. She is a graduate of Cove Creek High School and Kings College, Char, lotte. Prior to her marriage she was employed as a secretary with P. C. Godfrey, Inc., Char, lotte. Mr. Vannoy is the son of Mrs. Elton L. Vannoy and the late Mr. Vannoy of Fleetwood. He is a graduate of Beaver Creek High School and is employed by Western Electric Company in Winston-Salem. Miss Isaacs Is Given Honor At Raleigh Pageant MISS KIM ISAACS Miss Stephanie Kim Isaacs, Raleigh, was named Miss Con geniality as one of the ten fin alists in the Miss Raleigh Pa geant last week. Kim, a 17-year-old senior and head majorette at Needham Broughton High, performed a twirling dance routine to1 the Tijuana Brass arrangement of “A Taste of Honey.” She designed and made her costume and during the routine used two batons and a unique “twinkle hoop” she originated.
