THE BOONE SIGN COMMITTEE HAS RE
CEIVED four Boone entrance signs from
Clyde F. Smith of Spruce Pine. The pic
ture shows the lettering of the signs al
though the shape of it and the texture of the
wood does not show. The Design and Lo
cation Committee met Monday with Midas
Wheeler, rock mason, to discuss prices of
rock work. David Spaitihour will contact
Ted Pease for guidance on a scale drawing.
Finance Chairman Glenn Andrews says he
is pleased with the donations which have
come in so far, and urges groups and indi
viduals to leave their contributions with him
or the Boone Chamber of Commerce. (Staff
