MR. AND MRS. JELLICORSE Dr. Jellicorse Is Given Honor At Northwestern U Students at Northwestern Uni versity in Evanston, 111. have named Dr. John Lee Jellicorse aS one erf the 25 most outstand ing faculty members at that in stitution. Dr. Jellicorse, recently pro moted to the rank of Associate Professor of Public Address and Group Communication, re ceived the award at Honors Day at Northwestern May 19. He was one erf the first 25 faculty mem bers chosen for the “Faculty Honor Roll*’ established this year by the Northwestern Stu dent Senate to honor those fac ulty members “who, in the eyes erf the Student Body, most de serve recognition for the role that they have played as schol ars, educators, and leaders.*’ Dr. Jellicorse is married to the former Mary Lawrence, daughter of Dr. C. Ray Law rence of Boone. Dr. and Mrs. Jellicorse met while both were acting in Horn in the West, he in the lead role of Jeoffrey Stuart, Ae in the role of Nancy Wards. Jhr. Jellicorse taught at Appalachian State University during the summers of 1961 and 1962. They will spend the summer in Knoxville, Term, while Dr. Jellicorse does re search on a $2,000 Summer Fel lowship Grant awarded him by Northwestern. Dr. Jellicorse teaches two courses each quarter at North western, including sophomore courses in persuasion and speech composition, senior courses in die history of Ameri can public addr- »s, and advan ced seminars in speech his toriography and persuasion. He is chairman of the School of Speech Undergraduate Studies TEEN-AGER TO TEACH East Lansing, Mich—Edith Stern, who entered college at 13, will graduate in August from Florida Atlantic University and teach math at Michigan State University.
