Trade News Our community was saddened by the death of Mr. Clint Thomas, which occurred early Monday. Mr. Thomas was 71 years old, a veteran of world war I and a retired farmer. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Pauline Lawrence Thomas, a son, George Thomas, Boone and two stepdaughters, Mrs. Gail Madron, Neva, Tenn. and Mrs. Frank (Jeanette) Price, Bedford, Va.; 2 grandsons one brother, Howard Thomas of Trade and a sister, Mrs. Ben little of Warrensville. Fvmeral services were held Wednesday at 2 o’clock at Trade Methodist Church by Rev. C. O. Vance. Pallbearers were Joe Stevens, Milton Cornett, Ray mond Donnelly, Fred Wilson and Grant Thomas. Interment was »n Trade cemetery. Miss Glenna May who is at tending summer school at Bris tol, Tenn. spent the week end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn May. Rev. and Mrs. Glenn South visited Monday with Rev. and Mrs. Lloyd Greer of Damas cus, Va. Recent visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Miller and Mr. Will Wallace were Mr. and Mrs. Mack Thomas, Trade; Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Miller, Tamarack; Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Greene, West Jefferson; Mr. and Mrs. James Greene, Beaver Creek and Rev. and Mrs. Gene Smith. Miss Tricia Jones and Mr. Bill Jones of Johnson City, Term, are visiting their grandmother, Mrs. Perdy Grogan. Mr. David Thomas of Char lotte visited Saturday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mack Thomas. Mrs. Grey Johnson of Hilde brand and Mrs. Billy Whisnant, Misses Sal lie Louise Thomas and Ethel Haynes of Hickory and Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Tho mas of Wahington, D. C. at tended the funeral of Mr. Clint Tfcpinas Wednesday. Mrs. Don Thomas of Washii« ton, D. C. is visiting Mr. and Mrs. Glenn May and Glenna and Mrs. Clint Thomas. Sgt. and Mrs. Frank Price of Bedford, Va. are visiting Mrs. Clint Thomas. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Tester and Mary of Zionville and Mr. and Mrs. Butler Wilson of Bris tol visited relatives here Sun day. Family Reunion Is Held At Bethel The first reunion of the de scendants of the late Warren and Sallie C. Farthing Greene was held last Sunday at the home of Mrs. D. F. Greene in the Bethel community. Attending were children, grandchildren, great-grand children and in-laws of the late R. S. and Bessie Greene Swift, the late John and Char lotte Greene Williams, the late Conley Greene and his wife, Mrs. Rose Eller Greene, and the late D. F. Greene and his wife, Mrs. Hattie Greer Greene. Fifty-one direct descendants were present and they were Joined after the dinner by many friends from throughout the Bethel community. Those attending were from . Sugar Grove; Blountville, Tenn.; Boone and Davidson; Rock Hill, S. C.; Pearson, Ga.; Charlotte . and Dobson; Norfolk, Va„ and Mabel and Vilas. Mrs. Greene's home, where the reunion was held, is the site of the old Dudley Farthing home, one of the pioneer homes in the county and Mr. Farthing was the ancestor of those pre sent.
