ARTHUR JORDAN DIES TUESDAY NEAR BETHEL Mrs. Arthur Jordan, age 62, died at her home near Bethel Church Tuesday afternoon about 3:00 o’clock. Death was due to heart trouble from which she had been a sufferer for a long time. She was taken suddenly worse just a few hours before the end. Funeral services were held ai. Bethel Baptist Church Wednesday af ternoon, with interment in the ceme tery following. Mrs. Jordan is survived by her husband, one son, Kenneth Jordan, Several sisters and brothers, and nu merous other relatives. She is well-known in Edenton and news of her death was a great shock to her many friends here. GOOD SHOWS SCHEDULED FOR TAYLOR THEATRE Shirley Temple in “Baby Take a Bow” will be shown at the Taylor Theatre today and Friday. This show has been sweeping audiences off their feet with joy wherever shown. Saturday will wind up the serial “Treasure Island,” and start “Vanish ing Shadow.” Bob Steel will also be starred in “A Demon for Trouble.” The entire program next week will show splendid pictures with “Straight Is the Way” featuring the Wednes day special program. All that needs to be said about the show for next Thursday and Friday is that Dick Powell, Ruby Keeler and Joan Blon dell are starred in “Dames.” RETURNS AFTER FUNERAL Henry House, coach of the Edenton High School football team, was called to his home in Weldon Saturday due to the death of his grandmother. After attending the funeral, Mr. House returned to his duties here. ! RED CROSS DRIVE STARTED Nearly every Red Cross worker at tended the tea given by Mrs. J. N. Pruden, chairman, Tuesday, and the drive for Red Cross membership was started Wednesday morning.
