Mr. and Mrs. Fermor Hobbs, Jr., and baby have returned to Richmond, after spending the past week-end with Mr. and Mrs. George C Hoskins. Mr. and Mrs. M. F. Davis and children, of Warrenton, were Sunday and Sunday night guests of Mr. and Mrs. O. C. Davis on Court street. Dave Atkins, Duncan Sessoms, Peter Gilliam, Johnny Walker and H. B. Mathews, of Windsor, visited friends in Edenton Sunday. William Jlliott spent this past Sat urday night in Robersonville with friends. Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Horace Hurdle, who has been work ing in Chapel Hill for several tnonths, has returned home. Henry Williams, of Norfolk, Va., spent a few hours Sunday with his mother, Mrs. Ella May Williams, in North Edenton. Mrs. Williams has been confined to her bed for the past several weeks. Miss Seldon Toler, of Elizabeth City, is the guest of her cousins, the Misses Elizabeth and Evelyn Skiles, on West Eden Street Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Copeland and children, of near Hobbsville, were in town last Friday, and were the guests of Mrs. Copeland’s sister, Mrs. Ernest J. Ward, at the Penelope Barker Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Eason and children, of Creswell, were in town Saturday. They were enro.ute to the home of his parents, in the upper end of the County. Mrs. Julian Ward, Mrs. B. F. Francis and Mrs. Geo. T. Leary vis ited in Hertford Monday afternoon. R. H. W. Bunch is quite ill at his home on Eden Street, having suffer ed another paralytic stroke Tuesday morning. Wilder spent Tuesday with Mr. and Mrs. Willie Culpepper, at Hodges Ferry. Mrs. Jordan Yates is confined tc her home on Oakum Street by illness. Frank Hughes is ill at his home or East King Street. Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Chappell, of Bethel, spent Sunday with Mr. ar, Mrs. W. F. Corprew, near Edenton. M. S. Elliott and A. E. Rector spent Saturday in Hertford on busi ness. Leroy Jolly left Wednesday for his home in Hopewell, Va., after spending the holidays with friends and rela tives here. Vernon Hardison left today for hie home in Terra Ceia, after spending sometime here. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Spruill and family have moved to the house on the comer of King and Oakum Sts. Misses Honey Feldman, Emerald Taylor, Eoline Morris, and Carrie- Belle Ruffin, of Ahoakie, visited Miss Willie Love Morgan Sunday. Fred Chalk and John Pitt, of Hert ford, visited friends in Edenton on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Wilkins and children and Mrs. Willie White spent Wednesday in Norfolk, Va. Miss Corie Bunch has been trans ferred to Elizabeth City by the local FERA office. Mr. and Mrs- L. C. Burton and two children and Mrs. Howard Chappell motored to Raleigh Wednesday. Miss Mary Arrington Burton, a student at Meredith College, accompanied them. Dr. William A. Graham left Tues day for New York after a short visit with his mother, Mrs. W. A. Graham. Miss Pencie Warren left Tuesday for Richmond, Va., to spend a few days. Mr. Bryan Grimes has returned to his home in Washington, N. C., after spending the Christmas holidays as the guest of Mrs. W. Leary, of Edenton, and son, Wade Leary, of State College., were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs R. W. Leary, Sr., Sunday. Miss Pencie Harrell spent Saturday night with Misses Edna and Jessie Byrum. The Y. W. A. girls of Rocky Hock Church gave a short program for the inmates at the County Home Sunday afternoon. The Y. W. A. girls have been doing this for a number of years. After the program each per son at the home was given a bag of fruit. Rev. Frank Cale, James Cale and Miss Virginia Cale were the dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Will Harrell Thursday night. Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Harrell had as their dinner guests Saturday night Mr. and Mrs. Henry Goodwin and two children, Mary and David; Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Goodwin and two children. The Y. W. A. girls gave a delight ful party at the home of Miss Lizzie White on Monday evening, Dec. 31. Various games were played and many prizes were awarded.
