Personals ! Miss Pauline Moore has returned home after spending two weeks with relatives in Hertford. Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Flynn and son, Milton Ward, spent Sunday in Was-h --ington, N. C., visiting relatives Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Crummy spent Sunday in Greenville and Kins ton. Mr. and Mrs- Isaac Hobowsky and little daughter, Theda Misses Fannie and Esther Hobowsky left Saturday night for Harrisburg, Pa., where they will spend a week’s vacation. Jake Wool, of Nags Head, arrived in Edenton Monday. Mr. Wool came to attend the funeral of his aunt, Mrs. South Jackson White, which was held in Hertford Tuesday. Joe Webb and Tom Hoskins attend ed the ball game in Ahoskie Sunday. Mrs. J. N. Sadler and son, Elisha; Mrs. Alfred Coffer and baby; Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Armstrong, all of Chattanooga, Tenn., have returned home after visiting Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Roberts. J. W. Cates and son, Clyde, spent the week-end in Norfolk, Va. They were accompanied home by Mrs. Cates and daughter, Miss Elizabeth Cates. Mrs. Shelton Moore and children visited relatives at Bethel Sunday afternoon. Miss Catherine Harrell returned to her duties at Protestant Hospital, Norfolk, Va., Saturday. Miss Har rell had spent the past two weeks with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John H. Harrell, on Yeopim Road. Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Dail return ed Sunday night from a visit to Mrs. Dail’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. V. Tucker, of Monroe. Mrs. Tom Hoskins and sons, Ward, Fred and Richard, visited her brother, N. Q. Ward, and Mrs. Ward, near Belvidere, Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Taylor and children have returned from a week’s visit to Western North Carolina. Miss Penelope Watkins returned to Nags Head, where she is spending the summer, Sunday. Miss Watkins had been the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Philip McMullan, on North Granville Street, for several days. Mrs. John M. Elliott and little daughter, Mary Anne, spent last week in Rich Square. C. E. Kramer has returned from a week’s vacation spent at Nags Head. Mr. and Mrs. Copeland Newbern stopped over in Edenton Saturday to see their aunt, Mrs. Clyde Powell Jones. Mr. and Mrs. Newbern were enroute to Florida. Mrs. Newbern, before her recent marriage, was Miss Edna Creekmore, of Moyock. Mrs. John Harrison, of Norfolk, Va., is the guest of her brother. L. C- Burton, and Mrs. Burton, on Broad Street. Those visiting Mrs. Clyde Poweil Jones on South Broad Street Sunday were her father, K. R. Powell, Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Creekmore and chil dren, Thomas, Dorothy and Christine, all of Moyock. Mrs. LaMont Edgerton and chil dren, of Goldsboro, are visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Boyce, near Wilcat Fork. Ralph Parrish, of Norfolk, Va., spent the week-end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. Y. Parrish, on Sound Side Road. Harvey Thomas spent Sunday in Wilson with his son, Jack Thomas. Mr. and Mrs. L. S. Byrum and daughter, Ruth; Mrs. W. J. Daniais, Miss Inez Felton and Miss Estelle Privott returned Friday from a week’s motor trip through Western North Carolina. Charlie Swanner is improving after several days’ illness. M. F. Bond, Jr., spent the week-end at Nags Head with Mrs. Bond, who is spending the summer there. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Bufflap and daughter, Dorothy, spent Sunday in Rocky Mount as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Bufflap. - Earl R. Ballenger was called to Goldsboro Monday to appear as a witness in Superior Court. Miss Margaret Harrell visited Miss Corie Bunch in Elizabeth City on Thursday night. Mr. and Mrs. Skinner Jordan and daughter, Ida Kay, of Elizabeth City, were the week-end guests of Mrs. Jordan’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Campen, on West Gale Street. After spending several days with their grandmother, Mrs. Harriett Parks, Misses Minnie and Carrie Parks returned to their home at Gum Pond Friday. About sixty guests were invited, and a deli cious salad course was served. Miss Peggy Perry returned home last week after a ten-day visit in Rockingham with Miss Grace Porter. Mrs. Taze Forehand, Mrs. Graham Pierce, Mrs. C. B. Morris and her guest, Miss Mildred Hutchinson, of Washington, D. C., and Anne Beasley were visitors in Windsor last Friday. Mrs. W. B.
