H. Holmes, on East Water Street. Vernon Hardison, of Belhaven, is spending the holidays with Vernon Barrow, in North Eden ton. Mrs. A. L. Midyette and sons, Allan and Norfleet, of Swan Quarter, came Saturday to spend the holidays with Mrs. Midyette’s sister, Mrs. T. J. Hoskins, and Mr. Hoskins, near town. Miss Kathryn Holmes, a student at Salem Academy, Winston-Salem, is spending the holidays with her pa rents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Holmes, on East Water Street. Friends of F. F. Muth will be glad to know that he is improving. Mr. Muth hasn’t been well for some time and has been going to Norfolk, Va.. for treatments. Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Foreman and children, of Elizabeth City, will spend the holidays with Mrs. Foreman’s brother, John G. Wood and Mrs. Wood, at Hayes. Miss Mildred Stephenson, a mem ber of the Columbia school faculty, arrived • Friday to spend Christmas with her mother, Mrs. S. X. Stephen son, and Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Byrum. Miss Edith Muth will spend Christ mas with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. O v Muth. Miss Muth is attending Miss Hardbarger’s Business School in Raleigh. Mr. and Mrs. R. P. Badham are having as their guests over the holi days, Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Coxe and two children, of Darlington, S. Miss Elizabeth Moore, who is teach ing at Vicksburg, Miss., arrived Sat urday to spend Christmas with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John A. Moore. Mrs. Roger Fagan and two daugh ters, Barbara and Penelope, will ar rive today to spend Christmas with friends and relatives. Mr. Fagan will join them later in the week for a few days’ visit. Miss Betty Moore has gone to Lit tleton to spend the holidays with her cousins. John Moore, who is attending Caro lina, Chapel Hill, is spending the holi days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John A. Moore. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wood and baby of Marion, will spend Christmas at Athol with Mr. and Mrs. Thomas B. Wood. Mr. and Mrs. Grice McMullan an;’ little daughter, of Richmond, Va., are the guests of Mrs. McMullan’s pa rents, Mr. and Mrs. Julien Wood, on Colonial Square, for the holidays. George Barrow, of Richmond, Va-, is expected to spend the holidays with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Barrow. E. L. Ballenger spent Friday ir Elizabeth City on business. Miss Louise Ward, a member of the Fayetteville school faculty, came Saturday to spend the holidays with her mother, Mrs. Mary E. Ward. J. M. Jones spent Friday in Ply mouth on business. Raleigh Long, of Elizabeth City, spent the past week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs, 0. C. Long, in the coun try, near Edenton. Misses Elizabeth Bowen and Agnes White, of Merry Hill, spent Friday in Edenton shopping. W. C. Brunson arrived Friday to spend Christmas with his family. Miss Nina Elliott, of Raleigh, will arrive tonight to spend Christmas with her mother, Mrs. Thomas W Elliott, cn East Water Street. Miss Ruth Sexton, who is in train ing at the Protestant Hospital, Nor folk, Va., will, spend Christmas Day with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. A- Sexton. Mrs. J. Hugh Parham, of Oxford, will arrive Friday to spend a few davs with her parents, Mr. and Mrs J. C. Dail. Miss Amelia Miles Elliott, of N. C- C. W. Greensboro, will spend the holi days here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. S. Elliott. Miss Evelyn Jackson, a student at N. C. C. W., Greensboro, is spending the holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Jackson. Miss Clara Meade Smith, of N. C. C. Amos Griffin, a student at State College, Raleigh; Mr. and Mrs. Wm Averette, of Durham, are spending the holidays with Mr. and Mrs. C. N. Griffin, on North Broad Street. John Wheeler, who is working in Raleigh, will spend Christmas with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Wheeler. Lance Bufflap, who is attending Hargrave Military Academy, is spend ing the holidays with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Edwin Bufflap. Mrs. Troy Spencer will spend the Christmas holidays in Elizabeth City with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Fleming, of Henderson, will visit Mr. and Mrs. M. F. Bond, over the holidays.
