Visit To Playmate
Causes Excitement
Some little excitement was occa
sioned Friday night when Joel C.
Williams, Paradise Road farmer,
called at headquarters to report that
his seven-yyear-old daughter, Helen
had failed to return from school and
that all his'eft'orts to locate her had
failed. He was quite sure she had
met with a mishap in some way, and
asked that the police help him find
her.
Principal John A. Holmes was got
in touch with first. He got a flash,
light and went through all the school
rooms in the thought the child may
have stayed behind to play after
school hours and been locked in.
Failing in his quest the police and

height Sheriff Bunch appeared,
heard the story and asked Mr. Wil
liams if Helen had any playmates of
whom she was especially fond. The
response was that she particularly
liked Eula Watson, whose parents,
Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Watson live on
the Suffolk road about a mile or so
across country from the Williams.
“Let’s go there,” said the sheriff, and
he and Mr. Williams did so to find i
Helen filled with a good supper and j
playing happily on the floor with, 1
Eula. She explained that instead of
taking her own bus, as customary,
she had jumped aboard the bus Eula
uses and gone with her.
