Miss Ruth Sexton has been con fined to her home on North Broad Street with a deep cold. Miss Margaret Satterfield, a stu dent at Strayer’s Business College, Philadelphia, Pa., is visiting her pa rents, Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Satterfield. Ben Ganderson will spend Christ mas Day in Elizabeth City with his parents. Miss Amelia Miles Elliott, a mem ber of the school faculty at Concord, is the guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. S. Elliott, for the holidays. Thomas Hoskins, a student at Rollins College, Winter Park, Fla., came Saturday to spend the holidays with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Hoskins, near Edenton. Louis George Wilkins, a student at U. N. C., Chapel HUI, is with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Wil kins, for the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. W. Z. Lackland and son, James, of Was&ngton, N. Mias Elisabeth Habit, a student at Mias Hardbarger’s Secretarial School in Raleigh, is the guest of her pa rents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Habit Miss Glenn Ward, of the Winston- Salem school faculty, came Sunday to be the guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. N. Ward, on Virginia Road, during the holidays. Mrs. Elisabeth Hobbs Tudor, of Burnsville, will be the guest of rela tives here during the holidays. Com On Acre Completed records on 4 - H corn growing projects in Bertie County show that Rowland Miller of Merry Powellsville with 46.8 bushels and Hill produced 50 bushels of corn on his one-acre projects, reports Assist ant County Agent C. W. Overman. Next in line was Julian Wiggins, of Aibert T. Wiggins of the same com munity with 43.4 bushels. A side dressing demonstration with nitrate of soda conducted by Joseph C. We trust our entire congregation remembers the poor with something substantial; We are learning that Christmas is not just a time of getting, but of giving. “God so loved the world that He gave”. It seems to us un necessary to send greetings to those we meet on the streets.
