THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 17, 1938 When he decided to return to pub lic life, Jesse James obtained assur ances in Washington that charges once in effect against him were no longer in force because there were no living witnesses. Accompanied by a delegation of early settlers who had identified him, James also paid a visit to the governor of Missouri and was told that when the SIO,OOO re ward was paid to Bob Ford, the case was officially closed so far as the State of Missouri was concerned. In his appearances at the Taylor Theatre, James will recount the high lights of his most interesting exper iences tmd will describe* his escape in detail. In addition to Jesse James in per son, the Taylor Theatre wall present Hank Farris and Ann Alexander, cow boy entertainers, in their famous Australian whip-cracking and fancy roping act. The screen attraction will be Betty Grable in “Thrill of a Lifetime.” Adams back to her school at Faulk land Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Pruden, Mes dames J. W. White and M. L. Willis continues ill at her home near Merry Hill. CHAPEL PROGRAM A Valentine program was given by the members of the Ninth Grade of Merry Hill school in chapel last Thursday morning. The program was greatly enjoyed. Grady Love, teacher of the Ninth Grade, was in charge of the program.
