Margaret Byrum Is Chosen As Model In Cotton Style Show < ■ Chowan Girl One of 143 Representing Nine Colleges 0 Margaret White Byrum of Eden -ton, a student in Louisburg College, will be. among the 143 girls repre senting nine worth Carolina colleges who will model clothing made by themselves in the 13th annual Cotton Style Show at State College April 25, Dean Thomas Nelson of the Tex tile School has announced. All of the participating girls are making their garments with fabrics designed, and woven by students in the State College Textile School. The annual Style Show was originated by Dean Nelson in 1928 to boost the use of cotton in feminine wearing apparel, and over 1,200 college girls have participated in the first 12 ex positions. • Each girl participating in the Style Show is permitted to select her fab rics from samples submitted by the textile students. They make the garments as part of their classwork in home economics. - Girls participating in the Style Show this year represent 78 North Carolina communities and eight other states. Funeral Services Held For G. L. Davidson George L. Davidson died at his home near Cannons Ferry about 8 o'clock Tuesday morning, April 9. He was 71 years of age and had been iU for a period of about six months. Funeral services were held at the home Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, the Rev. Frank Cale offi ciating. Interment was made in the cemetery at the home place. /Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Fan nie Davidson; two sons, G. W. David son and D. C. Davidson, of Chowan County, and two daughters, Mrs. B. B. Basnight of New Bern, and Miss Pasco Davidson at home. Two brothers, Charlie Davidson of Cole rain and Joe Davidson, as well as five nephews and two nieces, also survive. Active pallbearers were: D. C. Davidson, G. W. Davidson, Charlie Davidson, Luther Davidson, C. C. 'Basnight and W. B. Basnight. Hon orary pallbearers were: Johnny Bunch, J. C.
