PAGE TWO New Officers Today C. D. Stewart In Charge Os Round Table Discussion Officers for the year beginning July 1 for the Edenton Rotary Club will be elected at the meeting of the club today (Thursday) at 1 o’clock in the Parish House. The entire membership was placed in nomina tion at last week’s meeting, from which will be elected a president, vice president and five other direc tors. New officers are elected so far in advance of taking office in order to allow the new president, as well as the secretary, to attend the 189th District Rotary Conference which this year will be held in Greensboro on April 23-24. The program today is in charge of C. D. Stewart, who will conduct a round-table discussion in connection with the election. At last week's meeting G. C. Bos wood, Currituck County’s represen tative in the General Assembly, was the principal speaker. Mr. Roswood was the guest of Representative J G. Campen and spoke very interest ingly about some phases of farm -legislation. Mr. Boswood said he was elected on an educational program, but that his next interest was agriculture, on which committee he took a very ac tive part. He explained the potato bill by which farmers raising Irish potatoes have some protection in the scheme of fertilizer concerns who heretofore furnished fertilizer and seed and all too often arrived at the close of the season with little or no profit for their efforts.
