PAGE TWO Lancaster Baseball dub Officials Stop Over In Edenton No Training: Camp For Next Season Yet Selected Friends, on Saturday, were pleased to greet Norman McLean, one of the owners of the Lancaster, Pa., baseball club, W. D. Cowdrick, the business manager, and Jack Quinn, who stop ped over in Edenton on their way home after attending the annual con vention of National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues held at Jacksonville, Fla. Though the Lancaster club finished at the bottom of the league following training- here last spring, both Mc- Lean and Cowdrick expressed a de sire to again train m Edenton, though several other offers have been presented and no training camp de cided upon as yet. While in Jacksonville, Mr. McLean signed up Tom Oliver, who will be re membered here as manager of the Reading team, to manage the Lan caster club next season. Several other players were also purchased, which has materially brightened Lan caster’s chances for a winning club. LEGION AUXILIARY PLANS FOR CHRISTMAS WELFARE WORK The American Legion Auxiliary met Friday evening at the Hotel Joseph Hewes for the regular month ly meeting. The meeting was opened by the president and routine business was carried on. At the meeting Friday evening, the Auxiliary members planned for the Christmas program of child welfare work. It was also decided to send gifts to the four soldiers at Oteen as signed to this Auxiliary. These sol diers are James Davis, B. Cox, Charles Albert and Alvin Coley. Each Auxiliary member is also asked to send a Christmas card to each of the soldiers, addressing the cards to Ward C-l, Oteen, <N.
